Paul Lloyd

Paul is a visual designer at Clearleft, whose passion for design is only matched by an equal interest in HTML and CSS. In five short years Paul has worked for small design agencies in the UK to burgeoning Californian start-ups in Silicon Valley, before settling down here by the sea.

What is your name?

Paul Lloyd

What do you do?

I tend to think of myself as an organiser of information, but ultimately I design interfaces that are understandable and a joy to use—a beautiful aesthetic is just happy coincidence!

What do you do when you’re not doing that?

I love to travel, especially by train. Visiting different destinations is a great way to improve my photography and writing skills whilst evolving my understanding of the world.

Tell us something we don't know about you…

I grew up with an Afghan Hound who found stardom in a television advert for the Clairol Foot Spa.

Favourite word?

“Scuttlebutt”. Added bonus: it (almost) rhymes with my favourite swear word.

Favourite city and why?

Chicago. The city is an architecture lovers paradise, and the only place I've enjoyed visiting during a snow blizzard. Sydney is definitely a close second though.

Best thing about the internet?

The ease at which it allows people to connect with others around the world with similar interests and passions.

Worst thing about the internet?

Most people on it are wrong.
